Outright Games has released Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game is a tie-in to Sony’s Summer Vacation film in the same franchise.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard focuses on the player reuniting Dracula and the crew from the film after they survive a shipwreck. Furthermore, each member of the film is set to star. Players will have to save each character from various places and complete several missions in order to save them.
Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games, spoke about the release, saying:
“We are pleased to release [the game] today and think fans will love of continuing the story [of the film], which hits theaters this week as well. This game is a great way to keep the summer fun going all year long.”
The game introduces the Impa to the franchise. Players will lead and command the Impa in order to carry out missions. These can be commanded alongside the rest of the characters in order to solve puzzles and complete missions. However, not much is known about the group.
Jamie Stevens, EVP Worldwide Consumer Products at Sony, said that the game is the perfect companion to the movie. He also praised the development team behind the game, and said he was excited for fans to get their hands on it. In his words:
“We are excited for fans to dive into a new monster adventure, explore Drac’s extraordinary world and make new friends along the way!”
The game is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. There’s currently no news as to whether the game will have any future DLC or expansions. However, if the movie is successful, there could be future sequels.
