Blizzard has been making several changes to Overwatch’s Sombra over the last while. However, the biggest is yet to come. According to reports, Blizzard has been tinkering with her skill set, and she could be a lot more powerful.
According to GameSpot, Sombra’s skills will be improved a ton. Lead designer Geoff Goodman has revealed that they are “seeing how far we can push the duration of her Stealth and Translocator abilities.” However, these changes haven’t yet been finalized.
Mr. Goodman was revealing the general direction that they were going with Overwatch’s Sombra. However, it looks like these will more than likely be added to the game. According to Mr. Goodman, the new Sombra will have no limit on Stealth. However, speed increase has been reduced from 75% to 50%. Furthermore, Translocators can now be destroyed from a distance.
Speaking about the new changes, Mr. Goodman said:
“These changes are really interesting for her as she is now in complete control over when she reveals herself, [allowing] her to time her hacks better for her team or go for a backline ambush during a critical moment in a team fight.”
However, these changes are nowhere close to being implemented. At the moment, they’re just being tested internally at Blizzard. So, Overwatch players may have to wait a while to see any changes. That being said, however, when they do drop, players will be able to have a lot of fun with the changes.
After internal testing, the changes will be tested publicly before any are implemented. Following public testing, they may be tweaked or changed entirely. Normally, though they’re pretty close to what was originally envisioned. So, players should have a general idea of what to expect down the line. However, it’s unclear when these changes will be implemented.
