Odin Sphere Leifdrasir Shows Off Alchemy and Cooking

<p><em>Odin Sphere Leiftdrasir<&sol;em> is the HD remake of the original PlayStation 2 game <em>Odin Sphere<&sol;em>&period; Yep&comma; we&&num;8217&semi;re getting another HD remake&comma; this time from developer Vanillaware with publishing duties provided by ATLUS&period; <em>Odin Sphere<&sol;em> uses Norse mythology themes with five different character plots intertwining as the world of Erion hurtles towards the end of days while warring kingdoms clash for control&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Most remakes would settle for updated resolutions and textures&comma; but <em>Odin Sphere Leifthrasir <&sol;em>has also gone as far as updating some mechanics &&num;8211&semi; in this case&comma; the alchemy and cooking features&period; In the original game&comma; brewing potions only came down to obtaining a recipe and mixing a singular item with a liquid source of magic called a &&num;8220&semi;material&period;&&num;8221&semi; However&comma; <em>Leifthrasir<&sol;em> allows the merging of existing potions with an item to create different mixtures&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>What does this mean exactly&quest; ATLUS explained&comma; &&num;8220&semi;<em>Basically&comma; brewing can be done by either combining a material and item&lpar;s&rpar;&comma; or by combining a potion with an item&period; You couldn&&num;8217&semi;t do the latter in the original&comma; so it adds variety to the process&excl;<&sol;em>&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>ATLUS then moved on to talk about the new cooking updates&colon; &&num;8220&semi;<em>The biggest update to Odin Sphere&&num;8217&semi;s cooking mechanics are the Rest Areas players will discover during levels&comma; complete with the renowned Pooka chef&comma; Maury&period; A quick ring of the bell is all it takes to summon Maury&&num;8217&semi;s Touring Restaurant and he&&num;8217&semi;ll cook delectable meals&&num;8230&semi;provided you have the right ingredients&comma; of course&period; The divine dishes will restore HP and raise players&&num;8217&semi; experience points&comma; so if you&&num;8217&semi;re not familiar with BYOI &lpar;bring your own ingredients&rpar;&comma; you will be shortly&period; If that wasn&&num;8217&semi;t great enough&comma; Maury is more than willing to cook food for takeout&excl; For those wanting a more formal dining locale&comma; the services of the Pooka Kitchen and Rabbit Café in the Pooka Village are still available to those who would rather spend Valentinian coins on Lamb Steak and Yogurt Mousse&period;<&sol;em>&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Did you get all of that&quest; Don&&num;8217&semi;t worry&period; Simply put&comma; ATLUS says that the new systems give players more brewing and cooking options&period; They also added&comma; &&num;8220&semi;<em>&&num;8230&semi;adventures in Erion will still have the quintessential Odin Sphere experience of chasing down recipes&comma; hunting for Mandragoras&comma; planting seeds&comma; growing food&comma; and more&excl;<&sol;em>&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>You can see the updated mechanics in action with the new trailer provided by ATLUS&comma;
