<p>Sony, in its latest <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/info/release/20150106_ps4_global_sales.html">press release,</a> has just revealed that it has sold 18.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles worldwide. Of that number, the holiday period between Nov 23, 2014 to Jan 4, 2015 saw 4.1 million consoles sold.</p>
<p>In August of last year, Sony revealed that 10 million PS4 units had been purchased by users and later remarked in October that 13.5 million units had been shipped to retailers.</p>
<p>Sony also noted that 81.8 million PS4 games have been sold since Nov 23, 2013 and that there are currently 10.9 million PlayStation Plus subscribers.</p>
