The Pokemon Company have confirmed, even though pretty much everyone who reads up on video game news knows this already, that they believe 2013 will be a key year not only for the company but for the Pokemon franchise as numerous titles are launched for Nintendo’s consoles.

Whilst many will immediately think straight to the next generation of Pokemon games, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, there are also titles coming to the Nintendo 3DS (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity) and the Wii U (Pokemon Rumble U… in Japan anyway).

The exact quote, confirming the companies thoughts on 2013, came from Anthony Cornish, marketing director of the Pokemon company:
“Undoubtedly 2013 is a key year for us to grow and usher in a new era for Pokémon with Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and the introduction of new characters as the launch platform. We believe these games will appeal to all generations both veterans and newcomers to Pokémon.”
