Gabe Newell has said that gamers will be able to buy a living room-friendly PC package in 2013, contributing to the rumours that Valve is planning to release its own hardware next year.

Gabe Newell recently spoke to Kotaku about next-generation consoles and had this to say:

“We’ll do it but we also think other people will as well. Well certainly our hardware will be a very controlled environment. If you want more flexibility, you can always buy a more general purpose PC. For people who want a more turnkey solution, that’s what some people are really gonna want for their living room.”

Would you make the jump from desktop to the couch?
