The two-part show based on the romance shoujo manga by Minami Mizuno, Rainbow Days (Nijiro Deizu) is being simulcasted through FUNimation this winter.
This particular shoujo will interest anime fans who have been feeling that recent shows in the genre are feeling redone since Rainbow Days features a main cast completely of boys. These male students struggle to find a way to figure out both life and locate their true loves. The website announced the synopsis as:
“After getting dumped on Christmas day, high school boy and hopeless romantic Natsuki Hashiba crosses paths with Anna, an aloof girl in a Santa outfit passing out tissues. For him it’s love at first sight, for her… not so much. With help from his best friends—a playboy, an otaku, and a nice guy with a sadistic streak—Natsuki sets out to win Anna’s heart and heal his own heartbreak along the way.”
The first part is a 12-minute anime episode, and the second portion features some popular male voice actors discussing what the behind-the-scenes of voice acting is really like. This second part is called club RAINBOW.
Both parts of the Rainbow Days series can be watched through FUNimation. Rainbow Days will have new episodes along with Club Rainbow features on Sunday mornings this Winter.
