The first episode of Ape Law’s horror game, Albino Lullaby, will be released tomorrow (September 15th) on Steam. Ape Law aims to bring psychology back to the horror genre, sporting no gore or jump scares, as the player will need to escape from a Victorian town, where the environments twists and contorts in real time.
Albino Lullaby do not sport traditonal cutscenes, is completely player driven, and will allow players to either sneak or force their way through the game. Built with VR in mind, supporting Oculus Rift, Vive and Morpheus, Albino Lullaby is dead set on creating atmospheric horror instead of the one we are used to in games today.
Justin Pappas, creative director of Albino Lullaby, and founder of Ape Law said:
“We are hitting the reset switch on the genre and bringing horror games back to the days of film when suspense ruled and great masters like David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock used our minds to scare us more than anything onscreen.”
Episode one of Albino Lullaby will go for $9.99 over at Steam, or you can get the season pass for 24.99. A release date for the PS4 and Xbox One is yet to be announced.

I am one of those who think that todays horror games rely to heavily on cheap jump scares. Hopefully Albino Lullaby can change that and bring something new to the mix. It is also neat to see that it is built with VR in focus, as I personally think that it will take horror games to a new level. It will be interesting to see if the game is still scary without them, as none of the big VR headsets have yet to go retail.
