With the release of Alien: Isolation, Creative Assembly hopes to give Alien fans the video game that they want. Certainly Colonial Marines by Gearbox Software has been well documented as an over-hyped, under fulfilled mess of a game. In an effort to bring the game direct to the fans, Creative Assembly took the opportunity today to announce the release date at a fan expo in England.

Set in the time period of 1979, the game will play as a survival horror game set in space. Players will control Amber Ripley as she is being hunted on a space station by a rather large rogue xenomorph.

The announcement that was made today in Birmingham, England can be watched here. Alien: Isolation will be released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on October 7th.
