Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has arrived a day earlier than expected, and is now available on the Google Play store and on the App store. The game originally was slated for release on the 22nd of November, but appeared early in the morning on the 21st. Some users have said they’re having some issues with the servers, but it appears to be running pretty steadily now.

Fans of the series have been clamoring for a new entry, that wasn’t a Mario Party knock-off or simply a home designer; for now it’ll have to do. Instead of taking place in a town, Pocket Camp takes place in an RV park and campground. Your villager that you can create moves into the RV campground with a camper, simple open room layout outdoors and a tent, which you can decorate as you wish. As you play, other familiar animal villagers will appear at and around the campground to keep you company and help you with the usual host of tasks and games to keep you occupied. On top of decorating your camper you can also decorate the campground with assorted furniture and items. There is a new business with which you can place yourself in debt in the form of OK Motors, which will give you the option to upgrade your little spot and give you more space, much like expanding your house in traditional Animal Crossing games.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is free to play, and has finally been released after having been pushed back for quite a while. The game does contain micro-transactions in the form of “Leaf Tickets” which can be used to speed up progress in the game. These tickets can also be earned in game, it should be noted. The Animal Crossing games are very popular for Nintendo, and have been a favorite for portable gamers over the last decade. It will be interesting to see how well this one does for Nintendo.
