Animal Crossing’s Gold Streak Ends As Mario & Luigi Dominate In This Weeks EU eShop Charts

Since its release, Animal Crossing: New Leaf has dominated the EU Nintendo eShop charts week in and week out, while taking on competition from new titles such as Project X Zone without even breaking a sweat.

Last week, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. took second place after being available for just three days and Animal Crossing still stood strong, but a week after release has seen this life-sim surrender its gold trophy for a silver one, as Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. takes first place.

Elsewhere in the charts, we see a huge change in competitors as Mario Kart 7 returns to form, in addition to Football Up 3D, Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale and Shantae joining the competition. This means that EU eShop chart regulars – Luigi’s Mansion 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening and Project X Zone fall to join the top 20.

This weeks EU eShop charts are as follows:

  1. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. (Previously 2nd)
  2. Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Previously 1st)
  3. Pokemon Dream Radar (No Change)
  4. Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale (New Entry)
  5. Shantae (New Entry)
  6. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (No Change)
  7. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (No Change)
  8. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Previously 5th)
  9. Mario Kart 7 (Re-Entry)
