Anime And Manga News This Week (03/08-03/14)

It’s a new week and a new set of anime and manga news to cover, so I’ll be listing the best updates and announcements we received throughout the week.

The World Ends with You the Animation PV

Earlier this week, the official website for The World Ends with You the Animation (Subarashiki Kono Sekai The Animation), revealed a new promotional video and the ending theme song artist for the upcoming anime. Additionally, the anime’s main cast will be featured in the UG Shibuya Fes event on March 14 along with the world premiere of the first episode and a digital UG Shibuya Museum exhibit. The anime is set to premiere on April 9.

Trails of Cold Steel Game Series Gets Anime Adaptation

Earlier this week, Nihon Falcom announced during its 40th anniversary livestream that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series will be getting an anime adaptation in 2022.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride OAD

Earlier this week, Twin Engine announced that The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga series by Kore Yamazaki and nhà cái uy tín nhất will receive an OAD (Original Anime DVD) by new animation studio KAFKA which was established by Takahiro Abiru, Kazuaki Terasawa, and Kouichi Naruse. The episode, titled “Nishi no Shōnen to Seiran no Kishi,” is set to release on September 10, 2021 in Japan alongside manga’s 16th volume.

Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired and describes its story as:

Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again. The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light Premiere Date

Earlier this week, it was announced that The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light anime film will premiere on July 2. A new trailer and key visual was also revealed.  The film will feature an original story by the manga’s author Nakaba Suzuki.

Netflix describes the series as:

When a kingdom is taken over by tyrants, the deposed princess begins a quest to find a disbanded group of evil knights to help take back her realm.

Edens Zero Anime Details

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s Edens Zero manga revealed a new promotional video for the anime alongside additional cast, opening, and ending theme songs. The anime is set to premiere on April 10. Netflix also revealed that it will stream the anime sometime this year.

Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English both digitally and in print, and describes its story as:

At Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park’s front gates. Little do these newcomers know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years! Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Anime Details

This week, Netflix revealed the English and Japanese cast members, story synopsis, a new teaser visual, and stills for the Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness CG anime. Netflix will stream the upcoming anime worldwide sometime in 2021.

The anime’s cast includes Nick Apostolides (English) and Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese) as Leon S. Kennedy, and Stephanie Panisello (English) and Yuko Kaida (Japanese) as Claire Redfield. Both the English and Japanese voice actors for Leon and Claire have also voiced the characters in previous Resident Evil games in their respective languages, most recently in 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake.

Netflix describes the anime as:

In 2006, there were traces of improper access to secret Presidential files found in the White House’s network. American federal agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a youth in a country she visited, while providing support to refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which appears to be of a victim of viral infection, Claire starts her own investigation. The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility. There, she has a chance reunion with Leon and uses the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to realize some sort of connection between the zombie outbreak at the White House and the strange drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relation and leaves. In time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant countries lead to events that shake the nation to its very core.

Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles PV

The official website for the anime adaptation of Yuri Kitayama and Riv’s Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles light novel series revealed a new promotional video for the upcoming anime set to premiere sometime this year.

J-Novel Club releases the Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles light novels and manga in English, and describes its story as:

Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he’s rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children…?

Tokyo Revengers Details

The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers manga revealed a new key visual, promotional video, theme song artist, and new cast members for the anime. Tokyo Revengers is set to premiere on April 10.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the Tokyo Revengers manga digitally in English and describes the story as:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! Fruits Basket: The Final PV

The official website for the Fruits Basket anime revealed a new promotional video for its upcoming final season, Fruits Basket: The Final. The anime will premiere on April 5.

Crunchyroll describes the anime as:

Tohru Honda thought her life was headed for misfortune when a family tragedy left her living in a tent. When her small home is discovered by the mysterious Soma clan, she suddenly finds herself living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma. But she quickly learns their family has a bizarre secret of their own: when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Zodiac!

Pretty Boy Detective Club Details

The official website and Twitter account for the anime adaptation of NisiOisin and Kinako’s Pretty Boy Detective Club (Bishōnen Tanteidan) novel series revealed the anime’s second promotional video, as well as more staff, cast, and opening theme song artist. The anime is set to premiere on April 10.

Vertical licenses the novels in English and describes its story as:

Rules of the Pretty Boy Detective Club:

  3. Be a detective.
