It’s a new week and a new set of anime and manga news to cover, so I’ll be listing the best updates and announcements we received throughout the week.
Princess Principal: Crown Handler OVA
Earlier This week, the official website for the six-part Princess Principal: Crown Handler sequel film series revealed that the first film’s Blu-ray will include a new six-minute OVA titled “Busy Easy Money” which features Dorothy, Chise, and the members of Team White Pidgeon. The first film in the series premiered on February 11 while the second film is set to premiere this fall.
Sentai Filmworks licensed the film series and describes the story as:
At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen’s Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. Under the guise of regular high school girls, they act as spies undercover. Disguise, reconnaissance, infiltration, car chases… Each girl uses their own set of special skills to dart around the world of shadow.
The Dungeon of Black Company PV, Premiere Date
The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yōhei Yasumura’s The Dungeon of Black Company (Meikyū Black Company) manga revealed its third promotional video and July 9 premiere date. The promotional video previews the anime’s ending song “World is Mine” by Humbreaders.
Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing The Dungeon of Black Company’s manga in English and describes its story as:
Kinji, who lacks any kind of work ethic, is a layabout in his modern life. One day, he finds himself transported to another world–but not in a grand fantasy of a hero welcomed with open arms. He’s immediately shoved into a terrible job! Now enslaved by an evil mining company in a fantasy world, Kinji’s about to really learn the meaning of hard work!
Record of Ragnarok Trailer
Earlier this week, Warner Bros. Japan revealed the second trailer for the anime adaptation of Record of Ragnarok. A special streaming event was also announced for June 19 on the Warner Bros. Japan Anime YouTube channel. The anime will stream on Netflix worldwide on June 17.
Wonder Egg Priority Special Edition
This week, the official website for CloverWorks’ original television anime Wonder Egg Priority revealed that the anime’s Special Edition will premiere on June 29. It will serve as the continuation of the anime’s 12th and final episode and will be an hour long.
Funimation streamed the anime, and describes the story as:
This is the story of Ai, an introverted girl whose fate is forever changed when she acquires a mysterious “Wonder Egg” from a deserted arcade. That night, her dreams blend into reality, and as other girls obtain their own Wonder Eggs, Ai discovers new friends—and the magic within herself.
Peach Boy Riverside PV
The official website for Peach Boy Riverside revealed a second promotional video for the anime. The video previews the team Q-MHz’s opening theme song “Dark spiral journey” featuring Yuko Suzuhana.
Kodansha Comics publishes the Peach Boy Riverside manga in English and describes its story as:
Sartrienne Aldraic, princess of the Kingdom of Aldraic, dreams of traveling the world—a dangerous dream in a land where monsters roam the countryside as they please, and humans live behind high, strong walls. Aquatope of White Sand PV
Earlier this week, the official website for P.A. Works’ original anime series Aquatope of White Sand (Shiroi Suna no Aquatope) revealed the anime’s second promotional video which previews ARCANA PROJECT’s opening theme song “Tayutae, Nanairo” (Swirl, Seven Colors). The anime is set to premiere on July 8.
Anime News Network describes the anime as:
The anime takes place at Gama Gama Aquarium, a small aquarium in Okinawa, an hour’s bus ride from Naha. Kukuru Misakino is an 18-year-old high school student who works there, and she knows about the “secret” of the aquarium: sometimes you can see mysterious things. One day Kukuru meets Fuuka, standing in front of a water tank with flowing hair and a tear rolling down her cheek. Fuuka has given up on her dream of becoming an idol and she has run away from Tokyo to Okinawa. Wanting to find a place to belong, Fuuka earnestly asks to work at the aquarium. The anime follows Kukuru and Fuuka as they deal with the issues of the secret of the aquarium and a looming crisis of its possible closure.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim Anime Film
This week, Warner Bros. Animation announced that it will produce a new anime film based on The Lord of the Rings series, titled The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 Premiere Date
The official Twitter account for the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story TV anime announced that the anime’s second season will premiere sometime this summer. A new key visual was also revealed.
The anime’s first season premiered on January 4, 2020 with 13 episodes. Funimation, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE streamed the first season as it aired. Crunchyroll describes the anime as:

The Company Slave Wants to Be Healed by a Little Ghost Girl Anime Adaptation Announced
A new official website opened to reveal the anime adaptation of Imari Arita’s Shachiku-san wa Yо̄jo Yuurei ni Iyasaretai (The Company Slave Wants to Be Healed by a Little Ghost Girl) manga. The anime adaptation was first announced in the July issue of Square Enix’s Shonen Gangan magazine. A new visual was also revealed.
The anime’s website describes the story as:
The heartwarming daily life of Mr. Fushihara, a company slave, and a ghost who wants to help her begins.
Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles PV and Premiere Date
The official website and Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Yuri Kitayama and Riv’s Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles light novel series revealed a new promotional video, key visual, and July 5 premiere date for the anime.
J-Novel Club releases the Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles light novels and manga in English and describes its story as:
Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. Visual Prison New Visual and Staff
The official website and Twitter account for Noriyasu Agematsu and A-1 Pictures’ original TV anime Visual Prison revealed a new key visual and additional staff members for the anime. Additionally, the character designs for the groups OZ, Los†Eden, and Eclipse were revealed during a special live-streamed episode of the anime. The anime is set to premiere in October 2021.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Premiere Date
The official website and Twitter account for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen film titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0, revealed a new teaser visual and December 24 premiere date. The film was announced after the 24th episode of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
