The man who brought you Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden says he wants to demolish “the standard of past console games in online multiplayer.” That man is none other than Tomonobu Itagaki, who recently shared the latest details on next year’s explosive – and rather mature – action game of Devil’s Third for Wii U.

On his Facebook page, Itagaki shared a bullet-point list of information about Devil’s Third’s development. Originally slated for release this year, Itagaki claims that the game’s development is “going smoothly” and that developer Valhalla Game Studios finished editing the game’s final cutscene “the other day.”

The IP that once began life at the now defunct THQ will deliver an entirely “new level of playability,” according to Itagaki. Looking closely at games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War, and Halo – the last of which he claims is a personal favorite – Itagaki claims he that Devil’s Third will even that of Ninja Gaiden in its scope and mechanics.

He claimed further that anyone, from “casual gamers to hard-core gamers” can enjoy the game, a game that you can play at a “fun party, or can kill each other in realistic war.” He couldn’t say how close that war is to release, but he did say that fans’ anticipation was inevitably “hard on a man.”

See the insanity for yourself in the trailer below that Nintendo released this past E3 capturing the game’s rather cavalier attitude:
