Regular Bagogames readers may remember that yesterday, Microsoft announced that they had sold over 78.2 million Xbox 360 consoles over it’s lifetime on the shelves.
Whilst this figure is pretty impressive, Apple have trumped it by announcing that it had sold 31 million iPhones during the latest quarter. That’s around 40% of the total sales of the Xbox 360 in four months!
Apple also revealed that iPad sales hit 14.6 million for the period, although this was down from 17 million last year. In addition to all this, they also revealed that they have sold 3.8 million Macs.
If further evidence is required to illustrate the threat Apple poses to the gaming medium, then take a look at this figure: BGR reports that Benedict Evands from Enders Analysis has calculated that iPhone sales have totaled 356 million since the original was released. When looking at this, and the game app download statistics, it is clear that the iPhone is bringing gaming to many.
