An alpha build of the upcoming JRPG is available to download for free from the game’s official website, developer Dragon Slumber have announced.
Arelite Core was revealed back in 2014 and “bridges the gap between traditional and modern JRPGs, bringing new concepts to tried and true designs and presented with high-definition retro inspired graphics.”
The Final Fantasy-esque PC game boasts custom heroes, over 80 monsters, retro-inspired NES-style music tracks, the ability to forge unique weapons and armour, a bunch of secrets, collectibles, secret boss battles and more.
The alpha allows players to explore early portions of the game. Kevin Giguère, lead designer and sole developer on Arelite Core, is looking to get as much feedback as is humanly possible, prior to the game’s release later this year.
Arelite Core is slated to release in Autumn 2016 for PC, with a Mac OS version of the game a possibility in the future.
