Atari Files For Bankruptcy In US

Atari, creators of famous and timeliness classics such as Pong, Asterioids and Centipede, has filed for bankruptcy in the US and is reportedly planning to sell off both its logo and videogame titles.

Atari is thought to employ only forty people in the US and has had its share price drop by 50% over the past year since it was taken over by its parent company in 2008. Atari released a statement confirming it will apply for bankruptcy by saying it would;

“effectuate a sale of all, or substantially all, of (its) assets” including “one of the most widely recognised brand logos, which is familiar to 90% of Americans”
