Get ready to breathe a sigh of relief Atelier fans because Tecmo Koei has announced that they will be publishing Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk in North America. Many fans of the series were worried about the future of series since NIS America is no longer publishing the series, however they did localize Atelier Ayesha.
Atelier Ayesha is the start of a new story arc and will feature brand new characters. The skinny on the story is that Ayesha is looking for her younger sister, Nio, who was presumed to be dead.
Besides a whole new story arc the game will introduce new features to the series. Remember how there was a time limit in the Arland trilogy? That has been replaced with a new Diary System. Players will use Ayesha’s diary to keep track of her activities, and it will help her gain new recipes, skills, and items. As for the actual mission structure, they are said to be connected to each other.
The turn-based combat system also will get a few new tweaks, such as being able to move behind the enemy and perform support and assist attacks. However, the main star of the series is the synthesis system, and even that will see some updates.
Tecmo Koei will launch the game on March 5, 2013 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
