Attack on Titan Pre-Order Bonuses and Combat Trailers Revealed

Koei Tecmo America has released two new combat trailers for the upcoming Attack on Titan game, as well as further details on what will be included in the pre-orders.

For starters, those who pre-order Attack on Titan from Amazon, Best Buy, EB Canada or GameStop will receive the Cleaner’s Weapon and Costume set for Eren and Levi, as well as Mikasa’s Festival Costume.

Also, players who purchase the game via the PlayStation Store will receive special Attack on Titan avatars to be used for the PlayStation Network. These avatars will include the characters of Eren, Mikasa, and Levi.

The combat trailers highlight the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear, which has been key throughout the manga and anime in defeating the Titans. Like the animd, players will need to keep an eye on their gas tank levels as they battle, since the levels will continuously deplete over prolonged use as players zip through the battlefield. Extra canisters can be acquired and carried to refill as needed, but canisters can be hard to find in the heat of battle if you’re not careful.

Also, players will need to replace their blades as they cut down Titans. With each use, the blade deteriorates a little more, and won’t deal as much damage in a fight until it’s replaced. As always, while the only sure way to kill a Titan is a deep cut to the nape of the neck, a Titan can be slowed down and dealt extra damage by hacking off a limb or two. Players will be able to aim whilst using their Directional Gear so they can be sure to get a quick, clean cut in before getting out of harm’s way.

The best and quickest way to bring a Titan down is in a team, and players will be able to recruit up to four NPC’s who will fight alongside the player. The NPC’s can also be commanded to carry out attacks, giving the player more ways to come at the Titans and bring them down through a combo of quick strategy and timing.

Attack on Titan is based on the first season of the hit anime show of the same name, and will be releasing August 30th of this year for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Attack on Titan will also be available digitally for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and the PC via Steam.
