Inti Creates and Yacht Club Games have partnered to bring Azure Striker Gunvolt and its sequel to retail in the form of a physical 3DS cartridge.
The partnership was announced during the Anime Expo in Los Angeles, and will see the yet-to-be-released sequel and its predecessor published on a single cart, comprising of what is being called the “Striker Pack”. For those who already own the action platformer Azure Striker Gunvolt, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 can be purchased separately in digital form for $15.
The sequel and the Striker Pack will be available on September 30.
Also announced at the expo was news that a dedicated anime to the series will be introduced this winter. The original series will be directed and produced by Yoshinori Odake, while animation will be done by LandQ Studios, with script writing taken care of by Shigeru Murakoshi. The released teaser shows the main protagonist of the series Gunvolt, as designed by Masakazu for the anime. Check out the text-heavy teaser trailer above.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 marks just the third game from the studio made of ex-Capcom staff. Yacht Club Games is the esteemed indie studio behind Shovel Knight, so the partnership between both companies makes for an interesting opportunity.
