Welcome back to another episode of Bagocast! In this episode, we take a look at the recent Sonic The Hedgehog movie. When the first trailer exposed that hideous monstrosity that was calling itself “Sonic”. Many fans and including ourselves, quickly ran back to the comforts the video games. Thankfully, Paramount listened to the fans and delayed the film, so they can fix his design. Now he is recognizable and doesn’t make the eyes bleed. However, that doesn’t make it a good film, so let’s find out if this film worth viewing.
Sonic The Hedgehog is a family starring everyone’s favorite blue blur, Sonic. Due to certain circumstances, Sonic leaves his homeworld to go to Earth. There he buddies ups with a small-town cop to defeat the sinister Dr. Robotnik.
Pros
- Simple, but fun story
- There are plenty of entertaining action scenes
- Sonic looks great
- The chemistry between Sonic and Tom is fun
- Jim Carrey is a blast as Dr. Robotnik
- CGI looks good for the most part
- The humor is mostly good
- Plenty of fan service
Cons
- Music mostly forgettable
- Too much product placement and it gets annoying
- Some jokes go on a bit too much that makes it cringy
