Welcome back to another episode of Bagocast! In this episode, we will be reviewing a video game movie hybrid that is all about choices called, The Complex (PS4). If you play games like Heavy Rain, Until Dawn or any, Telltale games, then you know what you are in for. Except it’s all live-action and there is no puzzles insight.
In, The Complex, you take control of Amy in a sci-fi setting. Of course this being sci-fi, nano-technology is going to be used in some way. That some way is medicine to improve and heal the human body in every way possible. However, this revolutionary medicine isn’t ready yet, but, a woman injects into themselves anyway. This causes blood to leak from the eyes and buckets of blood are coughed out.
She is taken to quarantine where Amy and her assistants have to find a way to save her. The situations does get more troublesome, but I can’t reveal that here because that’s spoilers. Based on your choices will affect the outcome of her survival as well as everyone else trapped in the quarantine.
Review Summary
Pros
- The acting is good
- The story is fun
- There are nine endings
- Two main leads are fun and likable
- Choices do have consequences (for the most part)
- Music is quite fitting
Cons
- Some plot points don’t go anywhere
- The relationship status doesn’t really matter
- Needs to be longer to flesh out ideas and characters
- Some choices don’t matter at all.
