The Banner Saga Lands On The WeGame Platform

The Banner Saga 3/Stoic, Versus Evil

The Banner Saga has landed on the WeGame platform, giving the series a stronger presence in China. The news comes as publishers Stoic and Versus Evil began working with TenCent, who created the platform. The RPG strategy series received critical acclaim on PC before hitting WeGame.

In a statement, John Watson, the founder of Stoic, spoke about the series release on WeGame, saying:

Making the Banner Saga series a truly global release has always been one of our goals and Banner Saga’s intricate narrative is culturally a great fit for Chinese gamers. Our focus, as we march towards the Banner Saga 3 release, is to continue to extend the Banner Saga and Banner Saga 2 in more languages and platforms.

The series has been critically acclaimed since its release. As a result of its run on PC, it has won several awards, including being nominated for several BAFTAs. Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil, spoke about the series hitting WeGame, saying:

Bringing The Banner Saga to WeGame and Steam platform in Chinese truly emphasizes the global appeal for Stoic and the brand. Adding Chinese to the long list of localized languages will help us to continue to grow the Banner Saga brand and help us take advantage of the growth regions in our industry. ”

The series is a single player driven Viking saga, where a player’s choices determine the outcome of their story. Player choices also affect the survival of an entire civilization. The series features a unique tactical combat system and a cast of unforgettable characters. However, there are several other features for players to enjoy, such as its BAFTA-nominated soundtrack. The third entry in the series is set to be released later this year. The series is one of the very few earlier funding successes on Kickstarter.
