Batgirl Joins the Party in New Arkham Knight DLC This Month

Correction: This article’s title originally indicated that Batgirl: A Matter of Family was slated for next month, August 2015. It is, in fact, scheduled for this month, July 2015. We are sorry for the error.

Original Story: The Batman family’s a mighty large one in Batman: Arkham Knight and its playable members just got Batgirl on its side. The game’s latest DLC will star none other than the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, Barbara Gordon, in her short-lived role as Gotham’s Batgirl.

Entitled Batgirl: A Matter of Family, the prequel story takes place prior to the events of 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, on July 21st for $6.99 if you just bought the main game. If you’re also bought the $39.99 Season Pass for Arkham Knight, you’ll be getting the DLC a week early for free this July 14th.

Developed by the studio that gave us 2013’s prequel game, Batman: Arkham Origins, WB Games Montreal, A Matter of Family places sees players play a walking, butt-kicking Batgirl in an all-new locale running, jumping, hacking, and fighting alongside Robin for some sweet Dual Play moves. We’ll assume this ends a whole lot better for her than *ahem* Arkham Knight does.
