Batman: Arkham Knight Release Date Leaked on Microsoft Store

Who is the Arkham Knight? We still don’t know, but what we might know is the day we find out.

Rocksteady Studios’ upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight’s popped up everywhere in the last few months, including the Microsoft Store, where it’s listed for a winter release of February 24th, 2015. The date sounds authentic, considering that the 24th is a Tuesday, exactly when games typically come out in North America.

Since it was listed on the Microsoft store, the game is only dated for PC and Xbox One, but the February 24th date likely applies to the game’s confirmed PS4 version of Arkham Knight as well. See the unedited screen grabs of the listing as posted on the Microsoft store down below for Xbox One and PC respectively:

Batman: Arkham Knight was first originally announced for a November 2014 release. However, Rocksteady confirmed with its Batmobile reveal that the open-world superhero title had been put back in the shop until 2015.

Talking with Kotaku, Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn spoke on the matter, saying:

“Now Batman: Arkham Knight is totally awesome. The thing about awesome, though, is awesome takes time. And totally awesome takes a lot of time. So in collaboration with our colleagues at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, we have decided to extend the development time of Batman: Arkham Knight. The very simple reason for doing this is to ensure we are delivering the awesome level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this, the final episode and the epic conclusion to the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy.”

The Dark Knight joins a host of rivals this coming February, with The Order: 1886 and The Witcher 3: Wildhunt storming out of the gates on February 20th and February 24th, respectively.

Batman: Arkham Knight pits Batman against an army of villains who’ve turned all of Gotham City into a fear-stricken war zone courtesy of the Scarecrow and led by the Arkham Knight. For the first time ever, you’re put behind the wheel of the Batmobile as Batman himself on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 this coming year as you rid your city of its worst visitors.
