Previous Batman: Arkham games allowed players to play through the game again via a New Game+, and while Batman: Arkham Origins will give that same offer, it will further challenge people through its permadeath I Am the Night Mode.
Speaking to Eurogamer at Eurogamer Expo, Arkham Origins producer Guillaume Voghel shared some details about this new mode that becomes available upon completion of the main game and the aforementioned New Game+.
“The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours,” he stated, “and then you have all the collectibles. To get 100 percent of that will take much, much longer. We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming back – that’s really difficult – and when you’re done with that there’s I Am The Night mode – which is no saves and one life.”
Earlier today, in a response to a question on Twitter, Creative Director Eric Holmes confirmed that you can, in fact, save, but if you die, you will definitely have to go back to the beginning. So, you know, maybe take your time and don’t die. Don’t want to waste all that time by getting too hasty.
