Battlefield 3 Review

Do you enjoy a game where you and your teammates can storm your way through enemy lines, involving multiple tactics that can include attacking on foot or in tanks, helicopters, jets, and numerous other vehicles? Or do you enjoy the thrill of sniping the enemy team from one end of the field to the other with realistic bullet drop? Then Battlefield 3 is the game for you.

Battlefield 3 provides a gameplay that revolutionizes first person shooters. With its many multiplayer options, leveling system, and realistic gameplay, this game becomes one of the most notable war games of all time.

While this game does have a lacking story line for the game’s campaign, it is made up for with the brilliant multiplayer content. It provides numerous options of what kinds of maps to play and what types of games to play. Most every building in all maps is destructible if hit with the right amount of C4 or tank rounds, providing a unique style of strategy for the players. This strategy could simply involve blowing a section of wall up to create your own doorway into a building, or it could mean taking an entire building down in order to take out the guy sitting on top of it.

The leveling system is divided into vehicles and classes and both branch off into different singular level up systems. There are four classes to the standard soldier: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. Each of these classes is individually leveled up by the points received while being of the certain class that you pick. Same as the standard soldier leveling system, vehicles are leveled up based on how many points you get while operating said vehicle.

There is a con to this game however; the campaign/single play. The storyline is hard to follow, and the gameplay makes you feel like you are being railroaded down a path of targets to just shoot. This part of Battlefield 3 is very lacking compared to the multiplayer action.

I would strongly suggest purchasing it for the multiplayer content. However, the single player action is rather limited, so gamers without Internet capabilities may need to shy away.
