Last weekend, EA Origins (Electronic Arts’ digital distribution service) released an advert to promote the pre-order of the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Included in the image was a subtext advertising beta access for a Battlefield 4 Beta. This news quickly spread as Battlefield 3 had drawn great review from gamers and had only released less than a year earlier.
Some thought that it could be an accidental leak or a mistake. However, the same message was shown at the end of a Warfighter gameplay video as well and, after a few days of speculation, EA officially announced that Battlefield 4 is indeed in the making.
There is no word on the actual date of release for the game but some have speculated it may drop on the next generation of consoles. This seems unlikely, however, as the date given for the start of the beta is in August of 2013. This means it is likely going to release on the current hardware.
DICE has also announced that pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter won’t be the only way to get access to the Battlefield 4 beta, though they declined to comment on what these other methods would be. So, what are you guys more excited for; the soon-to-be released MoH: Warfighter developed by Danger Close or DICE’s promising project on the horizon, Battlefield 4?
