[Update] Battlefield 4 Premium Members to receive Naval Strike DLC today

Update: DICE has delayed the Naval Strike DLC for Xbox One and PC users. Below is a quote from DICE on the issues they are facing:

“We have delayed the PC version of Naval Strike because we are concerned that the combination of the pack and planned PC updates would increase performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs,” DICE shared via a post on the Battlefield Blog. “Additionally, we have decided to delay the Xbox One version of Naval Strike because we want to address issues in the animation system that hinder players from engaging targets in set circumstances using popular weapon configurations.”

DICE hopes to have the issues resolved in early April and has promised Premium members that they will receive the content two weeks prior to non-premium members.

Original story: Today, Battlefield 4 receives it’s third expansion pack entitled Naval Strike. The DLC is available two weeks earlier for Battlefield 4 Premium members. Non-premium members can purchase this DLC on April 8th.

The Naval Strike DLC is centered around sea-to-sea warfare and will feature for new maps set in the South China Sea. The names of the maps are: Lost Islands, Wave Breaker, Nansha Strike, and Operation Mortar. The fun doesn’t stop there as also included in the DLC is a new mode called Carrier Assault, which many might remember from Battlefield 2142. According to the post on the PlayStation Blog, the objective of this mode is to “destroy the enemy team’s carrier before they infiltrate and destroy yours. You start out fighting a big-scale war with sea, land, and air vehicles controlling the map, and then everything evolves into an infantry-focused, close-quarters fight inside both carriers at the same time”, said Dan Mitre, EA’s Community Manager.

Lastly, included in the DLC is the addition of the amphibious hovercraft, five new weapons, two additional gadgets, and ten assignments.
