As part of its quarterly earnings report, EA has announced that Visceral’s new take on the company’s blockbuster FPS series will drive into virtual LA this March a full nine months since its E3 reveal.

Until now, Battlefield: Hardline‘s release date has been kept vague following its beta delay this past July, a month after its beta test during E3. DICE vice president Karl Magnus Troeddson addressed the news, saying:

“This feedback spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better. The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would need more time. Time that we didn’t have if we decided to move forward with launching in just a couple of months.”

Battlefield: Hardline hits retail on Mar. 17th, 2015 and joins the next Need for Speed title out of 2014 to give the Ghost Games more time.
