Killer Instinct’s rolling up its sleeves for a third season in 2016 and it includes the wartiest stars of Rare Replay, namely a Battletoad with killer soccer cleats, if Rare Ltd.’s latest tweet is any indication.
Rash the now beefcake Battletoad’s making his fighting debut in Killer Instinct: Season 3 as the studio announced on Twitter and Microsoft’s Gamescom conference today. The little guy’s apparently been working out some since his bygone 1991 arcade days. And he’s also available for download right now to boot.

The conference reportedly showed off none of Rash’s new move set, but a brief move reel purportedly showcased some of his classic arcade moves with his combos ballooning up his feet and fists. A wrecking ball and a hover bike reportedly accompany his special moves.
Killer Instinct’s seen several series favorites have made an appearance in its previous season, including the fearsome Japanese ghost Hisako, the flame-throwing Cinder, and the war golem Aganos. The former Xbox One exclusive is now available for Windows PC since this past E3.
