Ubisoft has announced that they are opening up the beta for their browser based strategy title, Panzer General Online. Developed by the Germany based studio Blue Byte, the game offers historical turn based battles set in War World II. It has both single player and multiplayer modes as well as a trading card system which you can use to customise your armies with tanks, artillery and infantry. This new beta also unlocks the Skirmish 2.0 multiplayer mode which allows players to fight with pre- set card decks so that matches are more evenly balanced.
PGO is the latest in the long running Panzer General series which dates all the way back to 1994. The series was originally published and developed by Strategic Simulations until Ubisoft bought the company in 2001.
