After years of rumors, speculation, and teases from Michel Ancel and Ubisoft, it looks like a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil will actually happen. Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced as being in development by Michael Ancel and the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio, through a Facebook post made today.
Ancel had announced that he would be working on a project with Ubisoft while also toiling away at WiLD, a new game from his independent studio. It isn’t surprising that this is the project, and its been teased enough lately. Ancel also teased the game earlier this week on Instagram, but Ubisoft had neither confirmed nor denied it. Now, technically the game was announced back in 2008. So there isn’t really any reason to believe this is any different. The Last Guardian comes to mind as another game we’ve been waiting a while for despite knowing it exists. But I would assume Ubisoft would know better than to bring back the dead unless they knew the game would be back for good.
