Finally, 2K has announced the collection that everyone knew existed but no one wanted to officially confirm. Until now. Players longing to re-visit the depths of Rapture or the heights of Columbia on the PS4, Xbox One and PC can on September 13th when BioShock: The Collection is released. The remaster is being worked on by Blind Squirrel Games who worked on Disney Infinity prior to this.

<amp-youtube layout="responsive" width="500" height="281" data-videoid="cnB3efE0VLI" title="BioShock The Collection - Announcement Trailer"></amp-youtube>

The collection will include BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite. It will also feature all of the single-player DLC for all three games, including Minerva’s Den for BioShock 2, which was directed by Steve Gaynor of Gone Home-fame. Remastered in 1080p, this is likely going to be the best looking version of the game. Also included is a video entitled “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock” which features Ken Levine, the creator of the series, and Shawn Robertson discussing the game.

For PC users, you will get a free upgrade to the new versions of the game, presuming you already own them. They are currently on sale during the Steam Sale so it may be worth shelling out a couple dollars for each of them if you haven’t already. BioShock 2 will not include the multiplayer component of the game, but that doesn’t really come as a shock (I’ll see myself out) since it was not the main draw of the series.

For me, this is a good time to finally finish Burial at Sea, which I always meant to finish but never found the time to do so. I’m also just excited to revisit the games since Infinite‘s twist ending that made me love the series even more than before.
