Elizabeth, who was the Lamb of Columbia mentioned in this video, is pretty damn powerful, apparently, as many of the inhabitants of Columbia and the Songbird will stop at nothing to keep her from escaping (they also fear her, a bit). Then we have Booker DeWitt who, throughout the course of the game, may begin to question how much he’s willing to go through to get Elizabeth out. He even goes as far as to tell Elizabeth (to her face!) that he’s afraid of her. His debt must mean nothing when put up against all the danger he’ll face in Columbia, and after a certain point, could you really blame him?
