Blade Runner 2 Possibly Before Prometheus 2

Director Ridley Scott has plans for sequels to his sci-fi films Blade Runner and Prometheus, but it’s sounding like his 1982 classic may take priority. While Prometheus 2 was set for a 2016 release, Blade Runner 2 seems ready to go into production with a script by Hampton Fancher (co-writer of Blade Runner) and Michael Green. And though Harrison Ford has yet to accept the offer to star in the picture, Scott seems very optimistic about the movie going into production soon.

It’s written and it’s damn good. Of course it involves Harrison, who is a survivor after all these years—despite the accident. [That being Ford’s Star Wars injury.] So yes, that will happen.

It sounds like Scott wants to head into production right after he finishes his next sci-fi film, The Martian. But this all depends on Ford’s involvement as well as Scott’s schedule which is already pretty full with Prometheus 2 and his David & Goliath epic he has planned.

Ridley’s Scott’s next film due to hit theaters this fall is the religious epic Exodus.
