Apparently Australian developer Blue Tongue was working on a new title, Brawl, before BT was shuttered by THQ last year.

A video of Brawl based on the WWE series, features some wrestling favorites including John Cena and Rey Mysterio in a room battling it out amongst other wrestlers. According to a source, the entire game was already about a year and a half into production with the video showing footage after 6 months of development. To add to this, it was supposedly set to be a more significant project with aims of serious merchandising and ‘TV show tie-in(s)’ as WWE is pretty big.

It’s said that office politics may have played a role in the downfall of Big Tongue, with a source saying BT could have continued, had THQ not stepped in.

Blue Tongue, developer of the de Blob series was one of THQ’s casualties last year after a number of studios were shut.
