Bluepoint Games are hiring for their next project, and it won’t be a remaster. Just like Shadow of the Colossus, this will be a remake of a classic for modern systems.
The company, in their job listing for a Senior Graphics Engineer, says, “We are passionately at work remaking a classic for current-gen game systems, growing our capabilities as a team and raising the bar for what fans anticipate from us.” In their job listing for an Environment Concept Artist, the team has said that they are “preparing for [their] next remake of a classic.”
The Shadow of the Colossus remake and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection developer hasn’t given us much to go off but we do know that their next remake is based on a popular game. They say in the listing, “Want to be part of creating something special, a game millions of gamers are eagerly anticipating?”
Bluepoint Games has worked on many different series with ports, remasters, and now, this month and in the future, remakes. They remastered the God of War series, Shadow of the Colossus, the Metal Gear Solid series, the Uncharted series, and Gravity Rush, as well as porting the impressive Titanfall Xbox 360 remaster for EA, as well as Flower. Bluepoint also offered their engine, co-developed, and ported PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which came out on both PS3 and Vita.
Shadow of the Colossus, which is their first complete remake, comes out later this week on February 6th. It was built from the ground up for PS4. Randall Lowe, the producer of the game, said to the PlayStation Blog, “We worked hard to preserve the way the game felt while making the control scheme more comparable to the Uncharteds and the Horizons of the world..”
