Breath of the Wild Let’s Play Video Revealed at 2016 Game Awards

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Let’s Play Video

At this year’s Game Awards, Nintendo revealed a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Let’s Play video in addition to an all-new trailer.

In the Let’s Play video, we see Link trying to survive in the wild by battling off enemies and meeting a new character! The opening of this Let’s Play introduces a new character named Kass. Kass appears to be of a race of eagle-type creatures. As a minstrel he wants to sing to Link of an ancient verse which will offer clues to a near-by shrine. It seems like the LoZ tradition of Link encountering other friendly characters who offer helpful advice on finding dungeons is continuing.

The above trailer is truly breathtaking. Fans may speculate that Breath of the Wild will come after Twilight Princess in the Legend of Zelda timeline since we can see crumbling ruins of the Hyrule Castle and Castle Town – complete with a faded familiar flag. It’s heartbreaking to see such a once beautiful city be reduced to rubble. Yet it’s this nostalgic and sad feeling that will most likely encourage players to fight for Link’s survival as they discover hidden mysteries of the wild in this new LoZ title. The official story for Breath of the Wild will follow the idea that Hyrule has been ruined, presumably by the evil lurking in the trailer’s shadows.

Breath of the Wild will be released on the Nintendo Wii U and Switch in 2017. It has not been confirmed if the game will be one of the Switch’s launch titles.
