Bungie Certain That Their Servers Are Ready For Destiny Launch

Always-Online DRM has had a lot of time in the spotlight recently, but not for the right reasons. This is due to the terrible launch of SimCity in the US which saw EA scrambling to try and find any form of solution to allow gamers to even begin to play the new title they had only just picked up from stores.

In light of this, many gamers are questioning whether Bungie’s next title, also always-online Destiny, will be able to cope and not break like SimCity.

In a recently blog post Bungie addressed these concerns directly by saying:
“Bungie is no stranger to anxious mobs of players who rush home after a midnight launch and put our best-laid plans to the test. Since a release date hasn’t even been announced yet, we’ll let our team focus on some less frightening but equally important challenges.”

Seems like Bungie is confident in their own servers whilst also being smart enough to test the infrastructure many times before its release. Hopefully this will lead to a smooth and successful launch from the people who bought you the original Halo trilogy.

Excited?
