Burnout Paradise Remastered Announced

If you’ve been looking to fill the void left by the Burnout series since the last installment, we’ve got some good news for you. EA has officially revealed Burnout Paradise Remastered for current-gen consoles. Even though leaks and rumors of a new Burnout have surfaced, this was a bit of a surprise considering there wasn’t much substantial until now. Here’s a brief history of Burnout Paradise for those that may have forgotten or may not have played it because it’s been a while since we’ve seen a full Burnout game.

The Burnout series takes the excitement of a street racing but actually makes it kind of fun to crash. The background colors get washed out and time slows down a little and you see this marvel of machinery which may or may not be your vehicle crashing. The crisp paint job gets eroded away, glass shatters, the steel frame of the car bends like putty because of the force put on it. It’s like watching your own high-speed crash test video. Burnout Paradise is the first to take it into an open world, with one of eight finishing points, but no set way to get there. Add in traffic and hazards with your high-speed crashes and it’s a video game adrenaline rush. So what’s going to be in the game?

Burnout Paradise Remastered, EA

Being that it is being released for current-gen consoles, Burnout Paradise Remastered will be rendered natively in 1080p on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those with a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X, the game will be rendered at 4K at 60fps. Also, the eight bundles of DLC that were in the original game will be available at launch for the remastered version. This includes a bunch more cars, the Big Surf Island map, a cops and robbers mode, and bikes.

It will be released March 16 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and GameStop has it listed for $40 USD. However EA Access members can play 10 unrestricted hours of the game starting March 9th with the Play First Trial. If you decide to buy it through EA Access, you will receive an additional 10% off the game.

So what do you think gamers? Are you as excited as I am for an updated Burnout Paradise? Do you hope this leads to a new Burnout game in the future? Let us know in the comment section below.
