We Could Have Had Some Cabin In The Woods DLC For Left 4 Dead 2

<p><strong>THERE ARE MAJOR SPOILERS FOR <em>THE CABIN IN THE WOODS<&sol;em> IN THIS ARTICLE&period; IF YOU HAVE YET TO SEE THE MOVIE BUT WANT TO&comma; THEN TURN BACK NOW&excl;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Familiar with the movie known as <em>The Cabin In The Woods<&sol;em>&quest; You should be&comma; because it&&num;8217&semi;s awesome&period; Well&comma; a couple of the monsters that showed up in the flick &lpar;not saying when because&comma; seriously&comma; you <em><strong>NEED<&sol;strong><&sol;em> to go see <em>Cabin In The Woods<&sol;em>&rpar; happen to bear a striking similarity to some of the Infected from Valve&&num;8217&semi;s co-op&comma; zombie slaughter-em-up <em>Left 4 Dead<&sol;em>&period; Turns out&comma; this wasn&&num;8217&semi;t an accident&period; It was very&comma; very intentional and&comma; during a Reddit AMA &lpar;Ask Me Anything&rpar; session with <em>Cabin<&sol;em> director Drew Goddard&comma; it was revealed that they were there for some <em>Cabin<&sol;em> themed <em>Left 4 Dead 2<&sol;em> DLC&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Reddit user ForsakenBacon was the one who posed the question to Mr&period; Goddard&comma; wondering if the Infected were a special Easter Egg or just a co-incidental design&period; Drew&&num;8217&semi;s response was two-fold&comma; first on revealing that it was going to be part of a game&comma; second explaining in short terms how it would work&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>We actually were going to do a downloadable <em>L4D2<&sol;em> expansion pack&comma; where you&&num;8217&semi;d fight in the <em>Cabin<&sol;em> world&comma; but then MGM went bankrupt so the delay squashed it&period; But the people at Valve were still cool enough to let us use some of their monsters to fill the cubes in the background &lpar;I had a lot of cubes to fill&period;&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>By the way &&num;8212&semi; the game was gonna be amazing&period; You were gonna be able to play in both the upstairs &&num;8220&semi;<em>Cabin in the Woods<&sol;em>&&num;8221&semi; world and the downstairs &&num;8220&semi;facility&&num;8221&semi; world with all the monsters&period; Believe me&comma; I HATE all video games based on movies&comma; they always suck&comma; but porting <em>Cabin<&sol;em> into <em>Left For Dead<&sol;em> felt like the right fit&period; It pains me that it didn&&num;8217&semi;t happen&period;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Utter shame&period; And if you&&num;8217&semi;ve seen the movie&comma; you&&num;8217&semi;ll perfectly understand why I say that&period; Still&comma; this is what the unofficial modding community is for&comma; isn&&num;8217&semi;t it&quest; Realising failed projects and putting awesome things into awesome games&quest; So&comma; if there&&num;8217&semi;s anyone out there who too realises that this is an awesome idea that needs turning into reality some time last month&comma; then get on it&excl; For the rest of us&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>The Cabin In The Woods<&sol;em> is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray and&comma; seriously people&comma; you <em><strong>NEED<&sol;strong><&sol;em> to see it&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;computerandvideogames&period;com&sol;369718&sol;cabin-in-the-woods-dlc-for-left-4-dead-2-almost-happened&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener noreferrer">CVG<&sol;a>&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;reddit&period;com&sol;r&sol;IAmA&sol;comments&sol;109ik5&sol;hi&lowbar;im&lowbar;drew&lowbar;goddard&lowbar;director&lowbar;of&lowbar;the&lowbar;cabin&lowbar;in&lowbar;the&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener noreferrer">Reddit<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
