Call of Duty: WWII Confirmed, Reveal Incoming

<p>As was <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;theverge&period;com&sol;2017&sol;3&sol;25&sol;15059860&sol;call-of-duty-world-war-ii-rumors">rumored in March<&sol;a>&comma; it looks like <em>Call of Duty <&sol;em>is headed back to the World War II well for another outing&period; A new countdown timer has appeared on the official site for <em>Call of Duty&colon; WWII<&sol;em>&comma; announcing what we already kind of figured &&num;8211&semi; <em>Call of Duty <&sol;em>is going back to where it all began&period; The worldwide reveal of the game will happen on April 26th at 10 AM PST&comma; which will be our first look at the game&period; Activision also <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;blog&period;activision&period;com&sol;t5&sol;Call-of-Duty&sol;Call-of-Duty-and-World-War-II-A-Brief-History&sol;ba-p&sol;10226875">released a blog post<&sol;a> going through the game&&num;8217&semi;s WWII roots&comma; if you&&num;8217&semi;re interested in how the series has tackled the war from different perspectives each time&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;124523" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-124523" style&equals;"width&colon; 1920px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img class&equals;"wp-image-124523 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2017&sol;04&sol;21154040&sol;C983BG8VoAAgiLf&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Call of Duty&colon; WWII" width&equals;"1920" height&equals;"1080" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-124523" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">&lpar;Call of Duty&colon; WWII&comma; Activision&rpar;<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>Several important things to note here&colon; first of all&comma; this is Sledgehammer Games&&num;8217&semi;s second swing at the <em>Call of Duty <&sol;em>franchise since their incredible debut with <em>Call of Duty&colon; Advanced Warfare<&sol;em> &lpar;a game which I hold in very high regard for the series&rpar;&semi; secondly&comma; this is the first time any of the major shooters have gone back to WWII in a very long time&period; <em>Battlefield 1 <&sol;em>went to World War I last year&comma; but <em>Call of Duty <&sol;em>took itself to space with <em>Infinite Warfare<&sol;em>&period; Ironically&comma; Infinity Ward began this series&comma; and they were actually the ones to have taken it to its furthest point in the timeline&comma; too&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There&&num;8217&semi;s not much that we know about the game yet&comma; but I&&num;8217&semi;m honestly not so much surprised that this is happening&comma; but that the team behind one of the more inventive games in the franchise is tasked with breathing life into an era that has been done to death&period; World War II games are harder to come by now&comma; but there was a time not so long ago when you could go into any game shop and ask for a shooter&comma; and you&&num;8217&semi;d pretty much guaranteed a WWII shooter&period; So we&&num;8217&semi;ll see if Sledgehammer can revive the setting in an interesting and compelling way&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Let us know in the comments below what you think of <em>Call of Duty&colon; WWII <&sol;em>and whether you&&num;8217&semi;re interested in playing another World War II game&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;callofduty&period;com&sol;be&sol;nl&sol;wwii">Call of Duty&colon; WWII Official Site<&sol;a><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
