Call of Duty: Black Ops III Teases 2061’s High-Tech Humanity

There’s been a lot said about the condition from the indie scene today. Now Call of Duty’s pitched its own take on the next few decades of our species’ future.

It’s a very different world that Call of Duty: Black Ops III inhabits. Over the course of the past fifty years leading up to 2061, humanity’s built itself into an almost god-like force. Cyborg limbs have rendered the “disabled” extinct. You can call your friends with just your brain. It’s the age of wearable technologies and now people fear that the United States’ high-tech warfare’s made men into something a lot less than human. Are some humans still more equal than others?

That’s the alarming fiction that Activision’s dropped on us just days ahead of Black Ops III‘s worldwide reveal this Sunday on April 26th, but is it really that? Fiction? You can decide for yourself with the three-minute teaser below.

Black Ops III’s expected for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC as well as a Wii U version rumored. We’ll let you know the details as they come later this weekend.
