Call of Duty’s back in black this year and it’s suiting up first on Playstation 4.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III developer Treyarch’s officially announced that the game’s multiplayer beta will hit this August for PS4 players.
Sony and Activision announced this past E3 that PlayStation systems will be getting first shot at any and all DLC and multiplayer betas for the franchise’s foreseeable future – including Black Ops III. This stands in contrast to Microsoft’s generational long deal with Activision, in which the same happened for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
We're excited to announce that the #BlackOps3 Multiplayer Beta will begin on 8/19 starting on PS4. More information coming soon!

There’s no indication as to when the Beta may hit other systems according to the tweet above, but at least it hasn’t ruled it out. Prior to this new deal, the time difference between Playstation and Xbox’s betas was roughly a month.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III launches Nov. 6th for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and despite speculation to the contrary, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
