You Can’t Drown Your Creations In The Sims 4

When The Sims first launched in 2000 it received high praise for giving players a lot of freedom. You could do almost anything you wanted to your Sims and that included finding creative ways to kill them. A fan favourite technique was to build your Sim a pool, send them swimming, delete the ladder so that they can’t climb out and then watch until they run out of energy and drown.

Unfortunately, it seems as if this will not be possible in the upcoming Sims 4. Unlike every other main entry in the franchise, this latest sequel will not allow you to build swimming pools. Producer Ryan Vaughn explained that, ”while it’s not possible for us to include every single feature and piece of content we added to The Sims 3 over the last five years, we’ve added features that you’ve asked for and that offer a whole new intuitive and fun way to build”. He added, ”Though pool building won’t be available in September, we do have a new Fountain Tool so you can create sophisticated landscapes.”

The Sims 4 will be released for PC on September 2 in North America and on September 5 in the UK.
