Capcom Announces Free Online Service Resident Evil.net as a Stat Tracker for Players

<p>Capcom has <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;capcom-unity&period;com&sol;brelston&sol;blog&sol;2012&sol;08&sol;14&sol;announcing&lowbar;resident&lowbar;evil&period;net&comma;&lowbar;a&lowbar;free&lowbar;online&lowbar;service&lowbar;for&lowbar;re6" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">announced<&sol;a> a new online service for the upcoming game Resident Evil 6&period; The service will be called Resident Evil&period;net&period; It will be primarily used to track players stats throughout the game&comma; as well as bring them together with collective goals given by the developers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;This free site tracks all kinds of data pulled from your game &&num;8211&semi; like proficiency with weapons&comma; types of enemies killed or Mercenaries scores&comma; to name a few &&num;8211&semi; and allows you to compare it all against RE6 players around the world&period;&&num;8221&semi; Capcom explained in their announcement&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;This not only lets you see how you compare to other players&comma;&&num;8221&semi; says Capcom&comma; &&num;8220&semi;but it also enables us to schedule online events that reward all participants with cool extras&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Capcom then went on to explain how players will work together to forward their goals&period; &&num;8220&semi;For example&comma; let&&num;8217&semi;s say one weekend the goal is to kill 10&comma;000 zombies&period; Everyone who has an RE&period;net account and plays during that time period will receive RE&period;net points that can be redeemed on the site for a variety of goodies &&num;8211&semi; chief among them&comma; new costumes that appear in the actual game&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Each event will have a winner who receives a &&num;8220&semi;title belt&&num;8221&semi; of which claims they are the current champion of these events&period; The belt will be awarded to the winner of each event&period; Once someone else has won an event&comma; the belt will then show up on their profile instead&period; There will however&comma; be a list of former players that held it at some point&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Capcom is also going to air a more informative video about the service when they appear at Gamescom&period; &&num;8220&semi;We&&num;8217&semi;ll actually be streaming a very informative video about RE&period;net this Wednesday and Friday from GamesCom &&num;8211&semi; it&&num;8217&semi;ll be 11am German time though&comma; so US folks may have to stay up late for that one&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
