Carmageddon: Reincarnation Coming to Next-Gen Consoles

<p>Stainless Games has announced its successful accumulation of &dollar;3&period;5 million of funding which will be used in the development of the upcoming vehicular combat game <em>Carmageddon&colon; Reincarnation<&sol;em> for PC and next-gen consoles&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012&comma; the remaining funding required by Stainless Games has been provided by Les Edgar&comma; founder of Bullfrog Productions and former VP of EA&&num;8217&semi;s European Studios&comma; and a shareholder in Stainless Games&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;We are delighted to have fully funded <em>CARMAGEDDON&colon; REINCARNATION<&sol;em> without having to go outside of the collective of our own company&comma; shareholders and fans&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Patrick Buckland&comma; CEO and co-founder of Stainless Games&comma; in a press release&period; &&num;8220&semi;It allows us to maintain a true independence and creative control whilst not having to compromise quality or content by budgetary constraints&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Carmageddon&colon; Reincarnation<&sol;em> is apparently set to &&num;8220&semi;re-engage the millions of players who enjoyed the previous versions for their excellent gameplay and irreverent humour&semi; introduce a whole new generation of gamers to the legendary brand&semi; and reinforce Stainless Games&&num;8217&semi; position as a strong independent developer&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>An iOS version of the original <em>Carmageddon<&sol;em> &&num;8211&semi; first released in 1997 and censored or banned in a number of countries at the time &&num;8211&semi; was released on iPhone and iPad last year&comma; while a re-release on Android devices is currently pending&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
