Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be launching on the Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360 and a 3DS version is in the works, according to a new report.

Castlevania: Mirror of Fate is a 2D game that has been in development for a year-and-a-half. The game will feature two playable characters to use in co-op play. The forward facing camera on the 3DS can be used as a mirror to “capture your reflection and reveal your fate” while the rear facing camera will be used for puzzle solving.

The Wii U version, which was to interact with the 3DS version, has been shelved in favor of a Wii U version of Lords of Shadow 2. The Wii U’s tablet controller was to act like the touch screen on the 3DS and the television was to be the top 3DS screen. Since that version has been scraped, gamers will be able to play a “safer” port of Lords of Shadow 2, which may still have some connectivity with the 3DS’s Mirror of Fate. Both games are being developed by Spanish developer MercurySteam and will be shown at next month’s E3.
