Catacombs Coming from Square Enix

<p>Siliconera has announced their Square Enix exclusive&comma; offering up a host of information about a shooter called <em>Catacombs<&sol;em> from the now-defunct Cavia developer of <em>Nier&period; <&sol;em>A former Cavia and AQ Interactive staffer revealed a number of details on the game&comma; which was supposed to be announced at E3 2011 before being put on hold&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The game is set in the Museum of Natural History in New York&period; <em>Catacombs<&sol;em> tells the story of four visitors caught in an event which leaves them trapped in a labyrinth beneath the museum&period; The gameplay is a party-based shooter with strong RPG elements&period; Guns level up and evolve&comma; gaining heads and limbs&semi; enemies drop magic rings which allow players to cast spells&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>One unusual aspect of the game is the lack of a fixed level design&period; It doesn’t matter if playing alone or with friends&comma; the goal is to reach the exit to the next level through a twisting set of randomly-generated corridors&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>If sources from Siliconera are to be believed&comma; Square Enix has not shelved the game altogether&comma; but the future of the game is uncertain&period; More details should be available in the coming weeks&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lpar;Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vg247&period;com&sol;2012&sol;04&sol;30&sol;square-enixs-last-cavia-title-is-catacombs&sol;">VG24&sol;7<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
